soul mountain

read a review by floyd cowan of the book soul mountain, written by nobel prize winner gao xingjian.

"he was saying that life is a disconnected series of events with a disconnected group of people who are important to you for moments and then, in the shifting fog, are gone. life is sex and food, music and movement, living and dying, and sometimes you are so lost in the forest that all you can see are the trees, and at times you can't even see them."
