holland holiday... over to belgium

we visited brugge and brussels, belgium, about 4 hours drive from amsterdam. our first stop was beautiful brugge, very old medieval city, it's absolutely charming little place. we had about an hour and half free and easy, gene and i took the streets with less people to capture the old buildings and feel the essence of this quaint city.

basilica of the holy blood, upon entering the church, my tears just wouldn't stop flowing, i dunno why, the energy in the church is so great that it has touched deep within me and i felt that i have had a healing. it was indeed a holy place. after snapping a few photos, with tears still flowing, i took a moment to just sit and stare at what you see above. simply magnificent. later a friend told me what i experienced was 'love'. what do you think?

one can also catch the city tour by a horse carriage, you get half an hour ride around the city with the guide explaining the historical and interesting sights.

  1. Oh look at that "Oliver Twist' street..they're so narrow yet so clean! These pics very much reminded me of my one and only trip to Germany eight years before for business purpose..it's a shame back then I still couldn't afford digital camera and the photos I had didn't do justice at all to all the beautiful buildings and happenings I experienced. I think I'll cry too if I were with you in that church..the presence of 'holy being' will touch me deep.

  2. hliza: yes, amazingly clean, unlike our back lane in the cities.

we got our first digital camera just a couple of years back too, and gene instantly got hit by the digital camera bug! whoever invented digital camera is a genius! couldn't imagine if it was a film camera! it would have cost us a bomb to print all the photos!
