here's the same village, upstream view, love the hills.

over the bridge in the village there's a noodle making shop, it's a one man show, freshly made noodles for the village folks, no preservatives.

ruins, canon 350d
ruins of the tin mining processing building, there were some parts of machines left to rust on the dirt road. we visited a museum close to this ruins.

replica of mining cave, canon 350d
this was taken from the crystal house. a retired man who worked in the mining caves until it was closed in 1983 found crystals in the caves during his working days, kept and displayed them in his home, like a museum of sort. we had to pay a small fee to have a look at his collection. this cave was also part of the display.

one of the caves was made into a sacred space for a deity. it's cool and damp inside.

teluk cempedak beach, canon 350d

no visits to kuantan is complete without a stop at the teluk cempedak beach. it was a hot afternoon and the sand was too hot to walk barefooted. we didn't stay long, but it felt good to be at the beach, the salty and sticky wind and the big blue sea and sky! mmm...... :)

  2. Fantastic photos, Alison! They "bring" me back to Malaysia instantly. The sunset from your hotel room (previous post) is so tranquil.

  4. Hi Alison, beautiful, well taken pics.
Its always not the camera, but the photographer, and your pics says it all.
By the way, you sure got a lovely smile...the kind that makes the moon rise an hour early.
You have fun and keep a song in your heart, best regards, Lee.
