December holiday

Three weeks has come and gone and Gene's parents and niece have gone back. Here are a few favourite photos from our holiday.

Blue sky and rolling hills with dotted cows and sheeps along our drive to Rotorua.

First stop Hobbiton movie set, and that is of course, Bilbo Baggins's house, Bag End.

The entire set was beautiful, the details were amazing.

I got to visit my favourite place in Rotorua, the redwood forest. There's something about the woods, no matter where in the world, the trees seem to be whispering to me "welcome home."

We brought the folks to the thermal park to see (and smell!) the wonders of nature. Geysers, mud pools and amazing earth formations.

And back in Auckland, just chilling around some parks, enjoying warm summer and cool breeze and also the amazing views.

Visited vineyard out west in Kumeu.

And a pottery tour up north in Warkworth.

We even did a sculpture trail that was really awesome! Above is an artwork by Paul Dibble titled The Choice.

Well, that's just a photo summery of a our holiday. It was a good break. I am looking forward to making journals again after the weekend is over, after I'm done cleaning and tidying the house, plus some re-organizing of the studio clutter ;)
