Library and books

When we first decided to move to this area, I was a little dissapointed with the library, it was small and didn't have many selections of books, but what I didn't know then was that Auckland Council was building a new one... IMG_20140620_01725
The current library (right corner), small and cozy little place, the small cafe next door serves really good food! It is a really sweet place. But things are changing...

This is going to be the new library, a two storey building with many new facilities. What a treat! It is expected to be completed by end of the year.

How wrong I was about small library! I found these books and absolutely loving them!

Meanwhile, in the little creative space...

I made these little upcycled notebooks, it's fun to make them and I hope to make more in time for Titirangi Village Market end of the month.

  1. You're lucky as here in the UK government imposed spending cuts have meant that some libraries have closed, fewer books bought and all have an uncertain future. Flighty xx

    1. Yes, we are lucky. So sorry to hear about what is happening in the UK, so sad to know about it. I wonder if anybody is taking the initiative to stop the closing of libraries? Or are they not popular anymore there?

  2. I know that library and café corner for having been there a couple times. So what will happen with the present library? Because all the libraries of Auckland are linked it is like a huge library. You can browse it online and requests any book to be delivered at your local library. Neat! I feel sorry for Flighty. We had spending cuts 3 years ago with the adult education courses. :-(
