Collaboration journals and birds

I am delighted with the collaboration work with Holly Roach. I think we both are. Her screen printed art work is simply stunnning. So honoured to be working with Holly. Here are some of the finished books.

Tui bird and kowhai flower in teal. Coptic binding with waxed linen thread. A limited edition journal and now listed in my felt shop.

Fantail bird journal. Bound with coptic binding with waxed linen thread. Also a limited edition and listed in felt shop.

A pair of Tui birds and Pohutukawa flowers. Bound with coptic binding with waxed linen thread. This one is also listed in felt shop.

There are a few more fabric design from Holly that I have yet to make into books, soon.

And here are some of my new shibori journals that has joined the others in my Etsy shop.

This pattern is made with a spider web binding, though the "web" is not very clear but the result is still beautiful. Bound with coptic binding with linen thread. Listed here

Folding and board clamping shibori technique. Journal is bound with coptic binding with waxed linen thread. Now in my Etsy shop.

I have been interviewed by Michelle in the Wandarrah blog. It is part of the Wandarrah Road Trip series, Michelle has been road tripping across Australia and New Zealand visiting artists and makers. She stopped by and I showed her around our neighbourhood, studio and Kiki. You can have a read here.

In the garden.....

The birds didn't know how to feed themselves from the feeder it seems, so I had to train them from ground up. placing seeds on the ground and into the feeder, hopefully they'll know that that's where the food is. I think it is working as I found bird poop inside, so I have hung the feeder back onto the tree.

I enjoyed working from my little studio overlooking my little garden, I get lots of birds hopping around looking for food. This little blackbird and its mate are regular visitors. A fun litlle distractions sometimes.

Have a wonderful weekend!
